Director – Quality Assurance
The quality culture within the company must be addressed at a Senior Leadership level to improve overall performance, profits, and change.
The current company culture is production driven focusing on market share and supported by the other departments. In the Greasex production line, there are multiply issues as operators are not well trained, ignoring quality procedures, and managers failing to document and hold individuals accountable. The filling equipment has no preventive maintenance with 12 open work orders. It is offline frequently at 15%, requires expensive custom parts, causing the line to be inefficient at 50% of standard. These actions are being reinforced by the productivity culture.
The GM has given full support for quality improvement and Director buy-in is imperative. A meeting with the Directors and GM to establish quality’s renewed importance and address the issues are a must. Their point of view is to maximize production and market share. Buy-in can be had through the win-win solution of replacing the filling machine, adding additional training and a quality process. This will speed production and increase the number of products created while reducing risk and defects. Accountability and documentation will quantify impacts as well as enforce quality standards.
An alternative and less favorable solution is affecting change through the Quality Assurance team alone. This can be a slow process to change the productivity culture and cause conflict with the other departments. It would also not include the positive effects on production, training, and risk reduction.
Base on the assumptions that quality problems go unaddressed, the consequence is the company will continue to lose money and market share. Therefore, it is recommended that change be made at a Senior Leadership level to address cultural issues while improving…...

...Momma In the poem “Momma” by Chrystal Meeker the mother appears to be a single mom with kids. She’s a loving, caring and providing mom. However, they seem to be having a financial strain. Not wanting the children to know their struggles, the mom goes about her everyday life without complaining and allowing the children to know her pain. This poem shows how a mother will sacrifice for her family. However, the sacrifice will go unnoticed and the mom is sometimes taken for granted. The poem exemplifies a mother’s love for her kids. A loving mother will make sacrifices to ensure her children have what they need. This mother went without food for five days; only eating the crumbs the children left behind. She never complained. She did this so her children wouldn’t lack for food. Although, she This poem also shows how the daughter took her mom for granted. As the daughter grew older they had arguments. However, the daughter never realized what the mom was sacrificing for her and her siblings. The daughter realized something was troubling the mom; however, was too afraid to ask what was wrong. In lines eleven, twelve and thirteen it reads “When asked, she said she would grab something later and it made Kayla afraid to ask what she’d done if Momma wouldn’t even sit with her to eat. Perhaps she was afraid, due to the fear of causing another argument. Kayla appears to be the older sibling. After she discovered her mom licking the plate, she then found out her mom hadn’t eaten in...

...Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. 1 Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. BUS 644 Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. 2 First we must incorporate priority rules. Priority rules are regulations which determine in which succession the orders in front of a production line should be worked (Stevenson 2011, p. 712). In deciding what priority rules to acclimate, an organization such as Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. should achieve the following objectives: 1. Meet due dates of the customers if the product goes directly to them or the downstream operations if the product is but an input of another. 2. Minimize the time the order spends within the process including wait time. 3. Minimize work-in-process inventory which inevitable ties resources which can otherwise be used in more productive activities. 4. Minimize idle time of both machine and human resources. Salmon Mommas

...Salmon Mommas Ten years ago, there was an old documentary named Glaciers -- Alaska’s Rivers of Ice which gave us a brief view of salmon. Salmon are a very famous anadromous migratory fish, which spawn in freshwater rivers, postpartum back in the ocean of fattening. The young fish will live in fresh water for 2 or 3 years, and then they swim into the sea, where staying a year or years until sexual maturity. After that, they return to the original birthplace to spawn. After ten years, now, just as salmon migrate to give birth to their offspring, so too are many Chinese mothers traveling great distances to America to give birth. They are known as “salmon mommas”. They produce Americans in order to let their children enjoy more than 180 countries visa-free entry, free compulsory education for 13 years and every kind of perfect social service. It seems like they have plenty of reasonable explanations for giving birth in the United States. First, the one-child policy must be the very primary reason for that behavior. Most Chinese families will plan to conceive again, resulting from the tradition preference for sons over daughters. But because of the banning of policy, those couples who can afford the high price choose to give birth abroad, which also create a new industry. Second, another attractive reason must be the citizenship in United States. According to the law of the United States, every person born within the dominions and allegiance of the United Stated, whatever the......
