First let’s start with the definition of Electronic mail which is the exchange of computer stored messages by telecommunication. E-mail messages are usually encoded in ASCII text, however you can also send non-text files, such as graphic images and sound files as attachments sent in binary stream. The E-mail was one of the first uses of the internet and is still the most popular use. Pretty much a large percentage of the total traffic over the internet is e-mail. This can also be exchanged between online service provider users and in networks other than the internet both public and private. The e-mail is one of the protocols included with the Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). The most popular protocol for sending e-mail is Simple Mail Transfer Protocol and a popular protocol for receiving it is POP3. Two of the web service provider of internet like Netscape and Microsoft include an e-mail utility with their Web Browsers. In addition the steps for the execution on how to create and send emails include the following. First the sender creates an email in their mail user agent (MUA) and sends. The MUA is the application that the sender uses to compose and read email, such as Eudora, Outlook, etc. During the next step, the sender MDA/MTA routes the email, the sender MUA transfer the email to mail delivery agent (MDA), the sender MTA also handles the responsibilities of an MDA. The MDA forwards the email to an MTA and it enters the first of series of network clouds, labeled as a company network cloud. The MTA contacts the MX servers on the MX record in order of priority until it finds the designated host for that address domain. The MTA job is to ask if the host accepts message for the recipient’s username at that domain for example (username@domain.tld) and transfers the message.
