Charles De Gaulle Airport, December 1998: I was glad to return to Paris, almost a year later, towards a week of meetings in the region of Giverny, north of the city. In different countries and dates the management team of logistics, supply chain, human resources, engineering, finance, business and communications had their meetings and was now the turn of Corporate IT. A company car took us to a nice medieval castle, where we would meet with the Vice-Presidents of IT, Finance and Human Resources of the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Orchestrated by the French nuclear power industry, the plan included a restructuring worldwide in 30 countries where technology companies in the area of connectors automotive, electrical and electronics were acquired or merged, which would later become the FCI Corporation, the 4th largest solution provider in the field of connectors. And the Brazilian subsidiary was within the company's plans, since the country conditions offered to host of many tech pilots of several technology waves due to the complexity of our legislation, continental distances, low risk / cost of local operations and for harboring two BU / MU completely separate at the same site. Once successful in Brazil, a global project would be easily implemented in other countries. The challenge would be to prepare the team for local managers, year after year, exceeding all expectations of daily operations, corporate projects and global clients: the next twelve years would forever change the way we think, act and relate in an environment as complex and challenging, consolidating fifteen different cultures, many different technologies, laws and practices of corporate IT Processes and Business. The Corporation

...The Corporation: The Corporation is today's dominant institution, creating great wealth but also great harm. This 26 award-winning documentary examines the nature, evolution, impacts and future of the modern business corporation and the increasing role it plays in society and our everyday lives. The birth of the corporation: How the corporation came to be. Originally, corporations were set up to serve the public good. Corporation lawyers gained rights through the US Supreme Court using the 14th Amendment (set up to protect slaves) that gives them the rights of a person. In the last century, the corporation is given more and more rights while people are increasingly stripped of theirs. Origins of Corporations Although definitions and descriptions of corporations have changed dramatically through the last few hundred years, the first corporation actually began long ago – as early as the sixteenth century. It was a benchmark in the history of money and business, transforming an economy from what was essentially a debt economy (when it came to merchant work) to a state-sponsored enterprise. This type of business was brilliant and revolutionary for the early business world, allowing businesses to take risks and expand in ways they had been unable to do before. The concept spread and grew, and by the seventeenth century, the corporation was well on its way to being an acclaimed and established center for regular commerce. When corporate business came to the newly born......

...accept that we are always under scrutiny in others eyes we begin to examine ourselves. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of stereotyping and discover how they lead to greater social identity. Once they learn their identity they find themselves stereotyping themselves and others. A stereotype is a preconceived, oversimplified, exaggerated, and often demeaning assumption of the characteristics that an individual has due to his or her membership in a specific group. We develop stereotypes when we are unable or unwilling to obtain all of the information we would need to make fair judgments about people or situations. In the absence of the "total picture," stereotypes in many cases allow us to "fill in the blanks." Our society often creates and initiate stereotypes, but these stereotypes often lead to unfair discrimination and persecution when the stereotype is not liked. When people are stereotyped they are judged and treated unfairly. Often when stereotyping happens negative discrimination tends to follow. This may often include isolation and lack of respect given to the stereotyped subject. Short examples of stereotypes would be how we shy away from people with a history of mental illness, because we are afraid they may harm us. Women and minorities are often excluded from high executive positions in the business and political world. Many clubs have restrictive membership policies which do not permit Jews, African-Americans, women, and......

Call Centre

...KAPLAN UNIVERSITY | Call Centre | Unit 9 Assignment | | | 3/10/2014 | | Introduction Customer Interaction Centre, also known as CIC is a corporation which is mainly engaged in receiving and transmitting large amounts of information, supports and inquiries from customers via telephone concerning technical support for their products. CIC is developing by dramatic and rapid speed, and is gradually becoming an important and indispensable component stage in modern enterprises and companies. The team’s leader has been having difficulty getting the team to focus during work and keeping them motivated, because they have not been empowered to make decisions that encourage them to work together. This situation has not changed since moving into a new building as communication still remains poor and affects the way the team operates. For example, when calls are coming in, instead of taking the first call, they are constantly arguing about who is going to take the call due to the nationality of the caller. These calls are coming in from all over the world and although each team member speaks English in addition to his or her native language, each feels overwhelmed by the amount of calls being transferred to him or her because of the language barriers. This department has a team of four: Joy – African American female from Virginia-Team Leader Vincent- Asian male from New York-Call centre rep. Aneesa-Arab female from California-Call centre......

Corporation

...Partnership or Corporation 1. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of Thomas and Bryan forming a corporation? First of all, a corporation is a legal entity, created by the state, whos assets and liabilities are separate from its owners. It has some rights, duties, and powers of a person, as well as the rights to receive, own or transfer property. It is also important to mention that corporations are typically owned by many individuals and organizations who shares of the business, called stock. After this, I found some advantages or disadvantages for Thomas and Bryan if they want to form a corporation. Disadvantages: First of all, they will not be able to form a corporation in any State of the U.S. According to the law, there are some states in the U.S. that do not allow corporations owned by only two individuals. Information play an important role in any corporation, it takes a long time, as well as a lot of money to make annual reports with financial information of the office theys want to put, the flowers, and all that stuff, that is probably going to take a good part of the $10,000 of their initial contribution. Fees and formality will be some other disadvantages of turning the business into a corporation, considering that the Capital contributed was not a big amount. Finally, we cannot forget that corporations have potential double tax consequences (once when the company makes its profit, and a second time when dividends are paid to shareholders),...

...has been one of my favorite NBA players of all time. I’ve watched Shaq struggle on the court, but never off the court. I’m inspired to write a paper about one of the most dominating centers. One obstacle that Shaq had to face was money. Shaq was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 1992. He spent his first million that he earned within 30 minutes. Like most people, when you get a large sum of money you just want to go out and spend it, just like Shaq did. Not thinking about how to save or your future or if you can impact someone else’s life who may not have food to eat, or nowhere to sleep. Another obstacle Shaq had to face was his Los Angeles teammate Kobe Bryant. “It’s not about how much money you make; the question is are educated enough to keep it? (Shaquille O’Neal)” This individual impacted my life and motivates be to do better by his education. He dropped out of college going into his senior year, played in the NBA and then went back to pursue is Bachelors in General Studies at LSU. He then went back and pursued his MBA through the University of Phoenix online. “It’s just something to have on my resume for when I go back into reality. Someday I might have to put down a basketball and have a regular 9-to-5 like everybody else....

...qualities, analysis of growth and history, exploration of impacts, and brief look at the future of the modern business corporation. The documentary defines a corporation as a legal person, explaining that is has most of the legal rights a person has such as borrowing money and managing property. The film was released around the time of major corporate scandals, such as Xerox, Enron, and WorldCom, and uses the metaphor “bad apples” to state that there are more than a few corporations that are bad. The film argues that if corporations were people, they would have psychopathic personalities. It then states that corporations have become a vessel which good and bad people can cause harm to society because of the way corporations have evolved and how they are protected. The Corporation film is concerned with the role corporations have in modern society its impact, or the corporate social responsibility. The film explores how corporations have been poisoning the earth as well as consumer minds and how the government is intended to look over and control these corporations.
