These stores are meant to fill in the gap between small convenience stores and larger supermarkets in the United States. Fresh and Easy consists of a 1.4 million square foot distribution center built in order to create an entirely new brand. This classification tells us that Fresh and Easy’s marketing efforts should emphasize aspects of convenience as well as affordability. They can do this by offering promotions as well as coupons often and in visible areas, like local newspapers or magazines. The target market for Fresh and Easy should be people on a budget but still with preferences and a desire for quality goods. It is important for Fresh and Easy to make customers aware of their new and more convenient option through advertising. Advertisements should be placed in areas that would reach the target market such as television commercials, newspapers, as well as other local stores. These advertisements should continue to enforce their message of fresh foods at low prices as well as support of local communities and environmental consciousness. For example, Fresh and Easy could donate portions of proceeds to organizations that go along with these goals within their local communities, as well as offer promotions for those customers who support these organizations too.
