Caught your eye yet? :
The connection of how spending money comes and its tricky disguises. Ever walked in to a store and saw that huge highlighter colored sign announcing “Big Blowout SALE”? They are pulling you in with things that attract you the most. From posters, human advertising, to the most innocent thing, the Barbie Doll, they are catching your eye and reeling you in and you’re unaware. Many businesses have learned the “Science” of how to arrange items so they may catch your attention. Paco Underhill, a retail anthropologist and an urban geographer, studies shopping behavior and has become valuable guides to store managers who look for the best ways to sell items. I am shocked to know that there are people who watch others for a living. As you approach a store look around and see if there is someone suspicious. Look around to see if you are being watched. Have you ever felt as if you were being watched? That is because they are watching you! Everything you are doing in the store is being observed. Strange is it? Yes but that is someone’s job. What you pick out and how you take in the item is all a part of their plan. Your choices matter in a study that you have no idea about. Your facial expression, happiness, and your disappointment makes a big deal also. The Credit Card Barbie is another marketing disguise. Barbie is, in a way advertising to younger age group. This is catching the eyes of your children and showing the fun and happy side spending money and shopping. The toy encourages irresponsible spending. Catching the eyes of elderly, adults, teenagers, and children and pursuing them to buy the item has become the main priority of store owners. They are finding more advanced ways that can draw in customers. The way customers observe things they may like is in a way being used against you. These two articles compare because…...

Later this afternoon he is receiving an award for his service to the 99th. His farewell party is this evening at the club. As you are setting up your things in your new desk, you discover some papers wedged between the wall and the side of the desk. The Secret

...The Secret can be helpful for those who are looking to develop a positive attitude and create a winning mind set. By being more hopeful they would increase their chances of excelling in what they set out to do. The secret can also help an individual’s creativity to improve because it can inspire them to see things differently. For a client who is doubtful about their own potential as a person, it could empower them to see the good in themselves. The motivational messages presented in this movie can be very powerful in helping people overcome their challenges. The movie speaks of a breast cancer survivor and “The Miracle Man” who used the secret and became healthy again .Although this may not seem convincing, it could bring hope to person’s life. Although this movie is a great self help guide, I wouldn’t recommend it to a client. If they experienced a devastating situation in their life it could be very troubling for them to believe that they attracted it. The movie states that all the negative experiences in our life are due to us attracting it. This means that the victims of 9/11, cancer patients, and every victim of the Haiti catastrophe, were the creators of their own suffering. They also say that it is life changing to accept it as our own mistake. I believe that these suggestions are completely wrong. Nobody would want to attract illness, disaster, or hardship into their life. In this part, I think the secret is mistaken. In conclusion, I think that the secret is a......

A Secret

...Basically: - Thoughts become things... Whatever you dwell on will manifest into real life events, be it good or bad. - Law of attraction states that when you think of good things, good things come to you. Dwell on the bad, depressing or keep giving out negative energy, bad things will happen to you. Ok it sounds like some enlightenment scripture crap so far but here's the awesome part... - You can attract into your life EVERYTHING you have dreamed of if you use The Secret, and use it well. You can have money, looks, love, career, health - ANYTHING. You can even wish for a harem or a spaceship. The secret isn't like religion, it doesn't judge. It doesn't care about whether you are a good person or a paedophile. You just need to follow the instructions. And what are the instructions? You start by asking. You ask the universe for what you want, and it will find a way to deliver it to you. You don't have to figure out how to achieve it, the universe will just GUIDE you there. Don't believe it? When Walt Disney first put pencil to paper and drew a mouse, do you think he ever envisioned or planned the route to movie empires or giant theme parks? No, he had a dream, and the universe made it happen for him. After asking you virtualize, try to imagine yourself already obtaining your wish. Never ever do "negative" wishes ie "I don't want to be poor" because if you keep thinking you are poor, you will constantly be. Change it to "I want to be rich!"...

Shopping

...Do you prefer shopping online or Brick-and-Mortar? That is the question… It is three days before the kids are out of school for Christmas vacation. A cold, wet, rainy afternoon and I still have a few more hours of this long boring work day. I realize that I have not had the time to finish my shopping for the gifts that need to be under that tree on Christmas morning, and I know that with the children out of school, it is going to be next to impossible to sneak any shopping in unnoticed. I think to myself, what should I do? Should I make use of this otherwise long drawn out free time that I am required to sit at this desk and do a little internet shopping, or should I take a more traditional approach and wait until I have someone to watch the kids and do my Christmas shopping on foot? I mean, why not make a day of it and have comfort in knowing that I can actually see the toys that I purchase and take them home the same day? I think to myself, does taking the easy way out make the gift any less special? Which would you choose? There are so many options available with shopping online, all in a matter of a few seconds, and a few clicks. Who really wants to get out in a cold, dreary day like today when we can get the same results, spend the same amount of money, and save a great deal of time by finishing any last minute shopping online? While both shopping online and in the store are one and the same, there are also many differences like convenience, privacy, risks, time, and......

...Shopping Shopping is an activity in which people search the available goods with intent to buy suitable ones. It is a necessary thing in modern life, because every day we need such things as food, clothes, shoes, etc. Shopping is a desire and sometimes is a source of entertainment. Many people choose shopping as their hobby as it gives pleasure. Besides it can be very useful to go shopping in the sales, because you can find a lot of special prices. However shopping isn’t only buy, but also look some fashion things as some people just go shopping by watching not buying things.  A lot of people like to go shopping when they have special feelings. Sometime they feel happy or sad, in this case they usually go shopping and it helps to change their mood. For people whose hobby is shopping there are a lot of shopping malls. They are very big and beautiful, full of shops and places where men can have a rest and children can have some fun, while women and girls are wasting their salaries. But as for me shopping is a daily routine. If I go shopping, I always buy things quickly and usefully. For example, my recent purchase was jeans. I just went to a department store, saw one that I really like. Then I bought it right away, and that didn’t take me a lot of time. To buy some small things, electronics or modern technology I use Internet. Nowadays online shopping is very easy. The only thing I have to do is going to the internet page, choose the product I want, find the eligible price......

...Socioeconomic Status and Food-Insecurity in Single-Mother-Families Rana Hassan & Douaa Mostafa Shopping List Project, Highway to Health 2000A Tuesday, November 18th , 2014 Introduction: In Canada, women’s health is affected by several social, economic and physical determinants. Single mothers are women, who are single, divorced, widowed or separated and care for one or more child with no assistance from a spouse. Single-mother families constitute 13% of Canadian families and they are more likely to experience a lower quality of life compared to families with two parents [3]. Also, poverty rates among families led by single mothers remain unacceptably high compared to the other demographic groups [3]. In 1999, poverty rate in single mothers was 51.8%, which is five-fold greater than the poverty rate among two-parent families (10.4%) [2]. Despite Canada’s efforts to reduce poverty among single-mother-families, the percentage of poor children living with their mothers continued to grow substantially over the last two decades [3]. Many studies conducted in Canada and the United States demonstrate that single mothers are significantly more likely to be young (less than 25 years of age), generally unhealthy, on welfare and poorly educated [9]. Also, single mothers tend to have higher rates of unemployment due to their deteriorating health states and their lower educational backgrounds [9]. The financial situation of a single-mother-family is worsened by additional......

The Secret

...THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne - Reaction Paper The Secret is a book written by Rhonda Byrne, which is known as the best-selling book in 2006. I was amazed when I entered the classroom and found out that we’ll be viewing/watching the DVD about The Secret. I have heard about this documentary since I was in 3rd year college and by this time I finally got the chance to watch a masterpiece. I wanted to watch this since but I never had the chance to because I got so busy with school activities but right now I think I am lucky that I am a part who knows The Secret and I am thankful to know it.  To begin with, The Secret is a life changing, it makes you financially independent, it let your mind powerful and lastly, it will make you successful. The Secret is kept hidden from thousands of people and they let their ignorance spread to people; it was buried, coveted, suppressed and it was never revealed to the public. According to Bob Proctor, a philosopher, the secret gives you anything you want; happiness, health, and wealth. He also said that “we become what we think”, which means whatever we think it predict our future. The law of Attraction is The Secret; what we see, hold, or even our thoughts are equivalent to what we need, want or even demand and it attracts to you. Like what I watched and jotted down, an optimistic thought is a thousand’s more powerful than pessimistic thought. The more you think, the more it will happen because the universe is reacting to what you want;......

...Shopping. When we want to buy something we go to a shop. There are many kinds of shops in every town or city, buy most of them have a food supermarket, a department store, men’s and women’s clothing stores, grocery, a bakery and a butchery. I like to do my shopping at big department stores and supermarkets. They sell various goods under one roof and this is very convenient. A department store, for example, true to its name, is composed of many departments: ready-made clothes, fabrics, shoes, sports goods, toys, china and glass, electric appliances, cosmetics, linen, curtains, cameras, records, etc. You can buy everything you like there. There are also escalators in big stores which take customers to different floors. The things for sale are on the counters so, that they can be easily seen. In the women'’ clothing department you can find dresses, costumes, blouses, skirts, coats, beautiful underwear and many other things. In the men’s clothing department you can choose suits, trousers, overcoats, ties, etc. In the knitwear department one can buy sweaters, cardigans, short-sleeved and long-sleeved pullovers, woolen jackets.
