Bryant, J., & Bryant, J. (2000). Television and the American Family. Mahwah, N.J.: Lawrence Erlbaum Associates.
This reference happens to be an eBook. It provides good information about television use in general which I can use as part of the introduction. The eBook states that television can be both good and bad. Also covered in this reference are some figures regarding television use as well as the amount of violence shown on television. I can use that information in the body of my assigned section of the group paper.
Greenfield, R. H. (2012). Don't Just Sit There: Sitting, TV Viewing, and Mortality. Integrative Medicine Alert, 15(8), 91-93
I find this article to be a suitable reference for my part of the group project. Watching television takes time away from doing exercise. What this article talks about is the important of regular physical activity and that just sitting there watching television does not promote good health. Also one key point that this article states is that sitting or television viewing appears to reduce population-based life expectancy in the United States. I can include that information in my part of the project.
McCARTHY, L. (2013). Take Back Family Time!. Working Mother, 72.
This article will be a reference for my paper. It talks about family time and how that has been impacted by television use. The article states that family time has been impacted negatively since children watch a lot more versus spending time with their parents. In fact, it even says that American children spend 10 times more watching television, or using other media, than they do spending time with their parents. The article also lists ways to solve this issue of lack of family time and I can incorporate some of those into my paper.

...Wiley & Sons, Milton, Qld. Which style does my faculty or school use? Some Schools require a different style from the one outlined here. Use the citation style required by your Faculty or School. Why reference your sources? It is important to reference the sources you use for essays and reports, so that the reader can follow your arguments and check your sources. It is essential to correctly acknowledge the author when quoting or using other people’s ideas in your work. How do I use Harvard? 1. In-text citations are made like this Paraphrasing and in-text citations Example: The point made by an analytic philosopher (O'Connor 1969, p. 32) is that values cannot be justified in this way. However Kneller (1963b, p. 102) insists that the theorist will inevitably be involved in value claims. Note: Page, chapter or section numbers may be included in the in-text citation if the cited work is long and information helps the reader locate the relevant information. When the authors name is mentioned in-text (e.g. Kneller in the example above) add year and page numbers only to the in-text reference. Entries that have the same author and year are noted by adding a, b, c etc. to the year, both in-text e.g. Kneller (1963b, p. 102) and in the Reference List (See entries in Reference List below). rev. Nov. 2009 1 Direct quotes and in-text citations Examples: ‘Having a solid plan as part of research design is essential’ (Hatch 2002, p. 46). Or Hatch (2002, p. 46) believes......

...5 November 2012 Subject: Reference letter for To Whom It May Concern, I have known Sara since 2000 and Carl since 2010. Sara and I became friends while attending college and Carl and I met after Sara and he were married in 2010. The most pronounced activity we work together. Outside work our families have gotten together for social events to include dinners and athletic events (runs, hikes, etc). The couple has been married for almost three years and during this time I have spent a great deal of time with them. I am certain they have a stable marriage and love each other wholly. Carl is a thoughtful, considerate, and hardworking individual. By trade he is a Pilot and in his free time he enjoys electronics. She is caring, optimistic, and hardworking. She currently juggles the demands of pregnancy, the military, and going to school. In her personal time she enjoys running. They lead an active lifestyle, but are most committed to their family and friends. While the majority of their family is on the west coast, they frequently make time to visit. Additionally, I have known of their desire to adopt and start their own family for some time. Sara and Carl are wonderful with children and are excellent role models. They have spent a great deal of time with my toddler and I trust them implicitly. They are warm, nurturing, and always understanding toddler routine. They are always willing to participate in kid friendly activities...

...work. The last source that I feel like will contribute to my paper is the child specialist article. My whole paper revolves around child welfare specialist and child abuse and neglect. So I feel like this article is very helpful because it lets you know exactly what the role of child welfare specialist is. Because of the ever growing numbers of children with learning disabilities, a new idea, one of a “child specialist” is presented. According to Sapir (1984) the role of the “child specialist” is clear and the ethics and philosophy supporting this method are deliberated. The importance of this new role originates from the many socio-economic forces in our society which are counter-productive to children’s best welfares. 4 Reference Johnson, C.F. (2004).
