The five qualities of a successful teacher that I possess are: * Having a strong sense of ethical behavior * Being creative and resourceful. * Being patient, confident and caring. * Being fond of children. * Being flexible and adapt well to the requirements of others.

Having a strong sense of ethical behavior is important because the children that you are left in charge of look up to you. We as teachers are tasked to set a good example for the children that we take care of and we should do this in a respectful way. My children look to me for an example of how they should act. It is my duty to set a good example for them to follow.
Young children are always on the move, so it is important that you engage their attention at all times. I have to be creative and resourceful to make learning fun for them. In order to get the most from your children you have to make them want to learn. I am always looking for new ways to make learning fun for my children.
Each child is different in his or her own way. They come from different backgrounds and cultures. I treat each one of my kids as an individual. I adapt the classwork to fit each child’s learning curve. I have to be patient with those children who don’t learn as quickly as others. You have to be caring to understand what each child is feeling on any particular day. Confidence is key because if I’m not confident in my teaching how can I convey to my children to be confident in learning.
The most important quality of a successful teacher to me is being fond of children. If you are fond of children then it is as if you are just working any other 9-5 job. In order to truly enjoy the rewards that come with your job you have to genuinely love what you do.

Although they are not paid lots of money, teachers are a great example of someone entering into a career because they love doing what they are doing, which is helping others. ...Chad Segersten EDA-551 Supervision and Instructional Leadership 12 June 2013 Classroom Visitation The main purpose of the observation and visitation was to examine the teaching styles of a novice and veteran teacher. One of the main differences I was familiar with was the distinct age difference. Going into the visitations I was curious as to if the age difference would show through their teaching styles. Both settings were in a 5th grade classroom and within the same elementary school. The first visitation took me to an “older” style of classroom. This veteran teacher was very stern and was very set in procedures throughout the day. I noticed the classroom schedule was displayed in very large text and was located in an area that was very noticeable. The teacher presented a short ten to fifteen minute lessons in math. After she presented the lesson, students asked clarifying questions and then were set to work on a worksheet with partners. The teacher did not move throughout the room for assistance, but she did offer the chance for students to come to her for assistance. Examining the younger, novice teacher, I noted a completely different classroom environment. As I walked in, I noticed I was observing partway through the lesson. This paper will discuss the breakdown of the handling of this situation, and the final result, the consequence, that the student, FL was given, and the rebuttal on the part of the parent. FL is a Special Education student in a regular education classroom. FL’s learning disability revolves around reading, and reading comprehension. FL has also been diagnosed as having ADHD by a neuropsychologist. Once a week an Instructional Aide goes into the classroom to work with FL in a one-on-one method on his assignments pertaining to reading, and reading to answer questions. This is done in the general education classroom, and at other times it is done in the vacant classroom. To guide the study, four research questions were raised. The multi-stage sampling technique was used to collect data from two hundred teachers (200) as respondents. A validated questionnaire titled: Teacher Quality as Correlates of Student Academic Performance with the used of simple frequency counts and percentage for analysis. From the data analysis it was revealed that: the role of professionally qualified/trained teachers is an important teacher quality which enhances students’ academic achievement in biology, teaching methods adopted by the teachers significantly influence achievement of the behavior objectives. Years went on and on without noticed I grew up and I sensed there was no bright future for me if I did not change the line of my life was following. Then in the year of 2006 I have sensed the need for education. I bought books and started to learn how to write my name and other things, in mathematics I learnt addition and subtraction at the end of that year I had understood that the kind of education I was receiving was enough at all. Then I developed a habit of asking questions where to find a better education. People gave me different suggestions but a man from Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya gave me a brilliant idea that, there is free quality education in the camps. That was a milestone of my life. I had organized myself very well, struggled to get a bus fare which was 50 dollars, i took time to accumulate that money, for about 9 months. Towards the end of the year 2007 was when I sneaked the border between Somalia and Kenya and I came Hagadera refugee camp in Dadaab Kenya. I found some distant relatives to live with. Live was never easy there in the camps but my previous was worse than that, I found it as a small corner of paradise.
