The Elevator Pitch Hi my name is _________ with the many financial programs my organization offers, I help consumers like you with their needs when it comes to the purchase or lease of a new vehicle, ensuring it meets the budget and requirements of all involved. Perhaps you and I can get together to discuss who we can help in their quest in purchasing a new vehicle. According to Elevator Speeches (2008), an idea of a service, product, or project is overview with an elevator pitch and it name is derived from the quick ride of an elevator and should last 30 seconds or approximately 100 words. A pitch does not take place of a good business strategy, but if the pitcher can arouse the attention of the listener, he or she will most likely be given the opportunity to share his or her idea in-depth with the appropriate audience at a later time (Gatling, 2011).
In the car selling industry there are many things to learn, seems simple but it actually takes planning, executing, and time management. Equally important, the four basic principles of marketing, product, pricing, placement, and promotion need to be exercised at all times during sales of a vehicle. For example, when customers come to the dealerships lot, he or she may or may not know the specifics of a certain vehicle; such as gas mileage, safety features, or even options. Moreover, he or she may not even know their wants or needs. At the same time, the salesman should have knowledge of the product so he or she may explain the feature and determine if that’s a need or a want to the customer. On the other hand, pricing is a different beast in the game. In fact, every single customer regardless of gender or age that come shopping for a car look at a $30,000 vehicle and try to offer $15,000 for it.
