Component Lifestyles
What are my component lifestyles, you ask? What exactly is a component lifestyle? What do I like or what am I interested in? What makes me tick, per say? I guess at this point in my life I can narrow it down to three things, besides being in school full time. Those three components happen to be Caffeine, Cars, and Music. Why these three? Well, caffeine helps me cope with something called the morning, cars are fun and very fast sometimes, and music is just awesome. I’m writing this paper to describe why I like these things and how they are marketed to me. Oh, and thanks for taking interest because my life is actually pretty awesome.
The first component I am going to cover is Caffeine. I work for a company; you may have heard of it, it is kind of popular. They are all over the world in fact. And in New York City, there is one on every street corner, literally. You probably drink their products every day. Ringing any bells? Yup, it is Starbucks. I have been a “partner” with them for nearly seven years. I drink their coffee every day too. I guess you can say I am and addict. Oh well. And the best part is that I rarely have to pay for their products. But, what exactly are their products? Their biggest product is obviously their coffee. Starbucks also produces mugs, tumblers, brewers, grinders, French presses, and so on. But it all comes back to the coffee itself. Almost all the other products Starbucks produces are things in which to make or brew coffee and then drink it in. The latte or frappuccino you drink every day has that same coffee in it too, only in a concentrated form called espresso. Starbucks is known for its coffee and the high quality of it is why it is so popular. If you walk into a free standing Starbucks there are like 20+ different types of whole bean…...

Tuscon Lifestyles

...Definition of Problem: Tuscan Lifestyles is a fairly new upscale mail order catalogue that sells cookware, tableware, linens, and decorative home accessories in a design that replicates the Tuscany region of Italy. Due to the intense competition in the mail order catalogue industry, the catalogue’s newest marketing director, Joan Beckman, has set out to use the companies database of consumer information to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of future marketing expenditures. In particular, Joan wants to determine if a customer’s initial purchase amount is a good indicator of their future orders and their overall value as a customer. Since Tuscan Lifestyles is a high-class catalogue, the company markets its catalogue to smart middle-class suburban females, aged 30-45, have a ‘cosmopolitan’ outlook on life, and prefer expensive Italian designs. To increase the company’s competitiveness, Joan hopes that by analyzing the dollar amount of a customer’s initial purchase it will reduce the catalogue’s marketing costs by identifying and retaining their loyal customers. Recommendation: The dollar value of a customer’s initial purchase is a good prediction of their overall value as a customer. The lifetime value of customers who initially spent more than $50 are more loyal to the company, which can be seen through their retention rate, and has been steadily increasing during these past five years. On the other hand, customers whose initial purchase was less than $50 are......

A Sedentary Lifestyle

...A Sedentary Lifestyle Travanti Andrews Excelsior College April 21, 2013 A Sedentary Lifestyle Most people dream of a life where they can retire and become a couch potato, but in reality being a couch potato doesn’t have all of the positive perks that come with relaxation. The term “couch potato” is also known as a sedentary lifestyle. In my essay, I will discuss the negative impacts of having a sedentary lifestyle has on our society. A sedentary lifestyle is a way of living in which a person, an adult or child, has a significant lack of physical exercise for what is generally considered to have a healthy lifestyle. The term is normally used by doctors or professionals within the medical field to explain a lifestyle among many people in highly developed countries that does not afford them opportunities for physical activity. Technology such as television, video games, and computer use is partly to blame for this way of life. Other reasons surrounding this lifestyle can be contributed to inactive living with such high demands for the work force and just being lazy. As much as technology has developed and contributed to the further advancement of the world, it has also been a curse when it comes to a sedentary lifestyle. Emotional factors such as depression can have a lot to do with sedentary lifestyle. “A study of physical activity in more than 7,000 teenagers found that inactivity is associated with emotional and behavioral problems. Teens with less than......
