Case Analysis

1. The double jeopardy claim can be supported by facts in the sense that Falkowsi had entered a pleas which was unconditional in nature on November, 1992. The case in October, 1992 which stated that the Government had taken action in the property seizure of illegal marijuana plantation. The civil case was taken up at the Fairbanks. Also on the charge of possession of marijuana a criminal case was ledged Anchorage. So Falkwski was tired of the same case both the times and so this was a case of double jeopardy. 2. The questions before the court were to identify the elements of the criminal offense. I believe the legal questions were the cultivation, distribution of marijuana, and forfeiture of a property acquired through drug trafficking. 3. Forfeiture describes the process where a civil court, after the initial restraint, and after all the interested parties have had a chance to make their case, orders that ownership of the property changes. The new owner could be a victim, a group of victims, or the provincial government (who will pay the revenue to victims programs). This action is not part of the criminal process and is independent of that. It is not another form of criminal punishment.

...Week 1 Homework Chapter 1: Marriage, Relationships, and Family Commitments: Making Choices in a Changing Society 3. What important changes in family patterns do you see today? Do you see positive changes, negative changes, or both? What do they mean for families, in your opinion? As the textbook states on page 13 the three society-wide trends have already dramatically changed American family life and will continue to do so. (1) new communication and reproductive technologies, (2) changes in America’s race/ethnic composition, and (3) economic uncertainty. Also, delayed marriage and frequent divorce are transforming the American household, etching patterns of solitude, single parenthood and homes increasingly filled by unmarried couples. Men and women are marrying later than ever before. On these days a couple will move in together, have kids, then marriage each other when it should be the other way around. 4. What are some examples of a personal or family problem that is at least partly a result of problems in the society? The list of personal, family, or social problems is huge and not identical from area to area. Some predominant social issues include the growing divide between rich and poor, domestic violence, unemployment, pollution, urban decay, racism and sexism, and many others. Sometimes social issues arise when people hold very different opinions about how to handle certain situations like unplanned pregnancy. Also, the problem of materialism and consumerism...

...Will Davis July 13, 2014 Week 1 Homework Assignment Which economic system is best suited for handling a crisis of epic proportions (hurricane, flood, blizzard, forest fire, etc.)? Why? NIMS (National Incidence Management System) also known as FEMA. When there is a natural disaster, emergency crews (fire department, ambulance, police etc.) is usually the first help on the scene to help people out. Socialism system offers the best solution for handling emergency situations because the government takes care of paying the people who work there so everyone can focus on helping the people in need. Being a not for profit organization means that everyone doing what they are supposed to and looking after injured people's best interest. Socialism in its perfect form (which rarely ever happens) seems to be the best economic system because it teaches people how to share things with your neighbor and to help out on the time of need. Describe and explain why a socialist system might be the best in responding to the needs of people struck by an emergency situation like the earthquake that occurred in Haiti in January 2010. A socialist society is more likely to have immediate and controlled impact on an emergency situation like the ones suffered in recent years throughout the world. Socialist societies are base in the good of the nation and the human needs of the people making them more efficient in regrouping and reorganizing their efforts. In these societies, each person has a......

Finance is a multifaceted field that relates to many aspects of life and business and it is beneficial to understand its impact. Knowing how finance works in different areas is crucial in budgeting investing and making your assets go far. ...fiduciary relationship between John and International Widgets, the fact that the company hired John as an employee already establishes a fiduciary relationship between them, starting with the issue on loyalty (Alces, 2015, p. 357). As an Agent of the company, John is not fulfilling his role properly because his actions are more for personal gain rather than for the interest of the company. He falsely represents the company by providing the competitor with the company’s customer information. In doing so, he receives 1% of the customer’s first sales order and in turn, International Widgets loses a client. What makes this even more unethical is John is still employed with the company and receives full compensation monthly. Actions International Widgets Could Take As the aggrieved party, International Widgets should file a case against John after conducting a thorough investigation of the events that transpired.
