Cyprus a beautiful island located in the Mediterranean Sea with a population of an average of 900 thousand. Tourism has been a major industry in Limassol for the past forty years. In 1992 due to labour shortages, work permits were given for workers in the agricultural, and manufacturing sectors. Shortly afterwards permits were given for housemaids and cabaret workers.
In a discussion with Dr Koliou, infectious disease specialist, it was pointed out that due to globalization we have seen an increase in Aids, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Salmonella and Tuberculosis. Also we have seen a rise in crime which, it is hoped will not be exacerbated by the unemployment figures which are currently rising.

Globalization is deeply controversial. some argue that it allows poor countries and their citizens to develop economically and raise their standards of living, while opponents of globalization claim that the creation of an unfettered international free market has benefited multinational corporations in the Western world at the expense of local enterprises, local cultures, and common people.

The pros and cons of globalization in Cyprus: 1. (Provides wider choices) Globalization is responsible for the wide range of choices in most products that are available in the market today. Since Cyprus is an island with not many industries, it does not produce the products that can be found today in its market compared to few years ago. 2. (Improves communication and transportation) through the development of roads and highways, people living in Cyprus could travel a lot faster throughout the island compared to a few years ago, which boosts transport of products from cities and tourism to explore other various cities. 3. (Boosts economy) Globalization makes it possible to not only export and import goods, but it also allows for outsourcing services and jobs. It has…...

...International law 1. At the beginning of this course we looked at the functions of purposes of laws, such as protection from violence, a mechanism to settle disputes etc, we need to extend the rule of the law to the international level for the same purposes. 2. International law involves relationships among states (countries) not individuals. 3. There is no world government to enforce the laws. The closest thing is the un security council which can make resolutions to end armed conflicts but the un has no police or troops of its own to enforce these resolutions. It has to member countries to volunteer troops to intervene to stop conflicts. These countries may only volunteer if they feel it is in their best interest as well. Eg the un could not only get countries to send troops to stop the genocide in Rwanda, but the Americans were quick to volunteer in 1991 when Iraq invaded Kuwait because oil interests were at stake. Today most UN peacekeeping missions are done by 3rd world countries. 4. ...Europe and middle east. This new has create a tense atmosphere between the countries of the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons (NPT) and the international environment, the three purpose of the NPT is to disarm the countries who got nuclear weapons (US, Russia, France, UK and China), to aim the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the use of nuclear materials in a pacific way. The global context go against the nuclear weapons we can see how US and Russia had agree to reduce more the nuclear heads (they already agree long ago (the end of the cold war) to reduce their nuclear heads but recently they agree to reduce it even more), we could also mention that the German government (Guido Westerwelle) wants to open a debate to see if the US can remove their nuclear heads that they still in Germany (even when it’s going to make 20 years since the end of the cold war). US, UK, France and Germany condemn Iran for maintaining the nuclear program in secret, China and Russia are worried and also against, this are the so-called group of 5 + 1 (the five permanent members of the security council + Germany), this group wants that the OIEA go to Teheran and Qom and second they want the uranium to be purify out of Iran. I agree with the resolution, because we can’t permit to more to have nuclear bombs, when the rest of the international community is trying to reduce their nuclear bombs and use nuclear materials just for pacific uses. I think that if the SC would have allow Iran......

So I have to use one semester to fix it. When I faced this problem, first I should do is analysis, then find good solutions. Preview and review the class are the two best way to help me to solve this problem, even though it will cost some free time. Firstly, I will explain that why I meet this problem. ...International marketing is the use of advertising standards in more than one nation, by organizations abroad or beyond national borders. It is an act of considering international tastes and trends in order to market a particular product globally. International marketing is an expansionary version of a locally produced marketing plan which takes into account marketing identification, targeting, and decisions internationally. It is essential for global marketing teams to understand and perceive the local cultures, trend and traditions to ensure efficient marketing campaign. Advertising methods and language used need to be appropriately chosen to prevent any adverse impact on the potential consumers leading to loss of sales. A complete and meaningful marketing plan should be developed consisting of marketing techniques, budgets and strategies. McDonald's first established in India was in the year 1996. The company made endeavours to overcome the misunderstanding that Indians had in the beginning about the product being western..Considering the fact that Indians avoid pork , bacon and meat, McDonald's should print out an absolute vegetarian menu to satisfy the local consumers that the meals are in line with their tastes and preferences. Distinct forms of mass media can also be used, for instance, billboards, brochures or posters. India being a country where watching television is one of the fundamentals of entertainment promotes McDonald's to invest fairly in advertisements.......

...rifts in businesses around the world. Many incidents occur where a country will place an embargo on another country for their differences in values which halt trading. Also a foreign might be very difficult to assess. This means there are laws or political forces in place that foreign investors have to work around. Furthermore forces can be interrelated because a foreign market could have abundance in labor but the work force is not very skilled. The management would then have to choose whether to install specialized machinery or hire a larger labor force and install less expensive machinery. 11) What examples of globalization can you identify within your community? How would you classify each of these examples (e.g., international investment, international trade)? Globalization exists everywhere in my community, especially living in Southern California. Almost everything I use or own has been made possible by globalization. Many companies in my community, including the one I work for, have their headquarters here and have plants that exist overseas where they are produce a quality product at a cheaper price. Since the company has its manufacturing plants overseas the majority of the materials used are purchased from a foreign market....

...in their new global expansion area has a better chance of developing a successful business. It is important to know how business is done in the country you are expanding in and what one should never do. (IDELSI) Language should also be considered when expanding to a different country; you need to be aware of the local expressions and how they express themselves. For example when promoting, or naming products in a different market the locals may misinterpret the name or product which can lead to confusion. By being knowledgeable in a country’s culture, it can help prevent expensive marketing errors. ... International Economics Monica Jones ECO/372 December 1, 2015 Larry Olanrewaju International Economics What does the president and congress do to stimulate the economy? What does the president and congress do to contract the economy? The president and congress can stimulate the economy by creating tax cuts, creating job bills and funding state and local governments. Tax cuts would allow companies to retain more of their earnings. The goal is that large corporations and small businesses would then turn around and hires more employees. Another benefit of tax cuts would be increased capital expenditures spending. A jobs bill would be directly aimed at creating jobs in the small business sector. The goal would be to increase the availability of credit for all small businesses. The creation of jobs bill would be aimed at increasing SBA lending and lowering capital gains taxes, which would encourage entrepreneurship and investments. Funds disseminated to local governments have the greatest multiplier effect. By getting funds to these governments, it would allow states to stop raising taxes on residents and from cutting needed services, which would help lower the unemployment rate and not further punish overly-taxed residents. In order to contract the economy, Congress and the President cut spending and program to cool the economy. If done correctly, the reward is an ideal economic growth rate of around......

...not to take advantage of todays’ security reference computer technology. The messages that were received and sent would have been encoded and decoded in such a way that it would have been taken a master hacker to infiltrate their system. If Bibliofind had used an encryption program, they could have established and maintained a successful business. California has a law that requires companies to inform customers whose private information might have been exposed during a security breach like the one that Bibliofind experienced. Before California enacted this law, businesses argued that the law would encourage nuisance lawsuits. Present arguments for and against this legislation. The Internet Worm of 1988 help start national, if not international organizations concerned with threats to computer systems. They want to share information about computer attacks and how to help improve computer security (Schneider, 2011, p.481). These types of organizations can help the public know of problems with a specific company, even if the company chooses not to let the public know it has a problem. So with that, I believe that the legislation is valid. If a customer had his or her credit card information stolen, they may have time to call the credit card company and inform them of the current situation. This is in respect to time. As an example, if the information is stolen at 10:00am and the company notifies the customers at 11:00am, this gives the customers a chance to make certain......
