Do Professional Athletes Make Too Much Money?

...Do professional athletes make too much money? Neumann University Daniel Kilpatrick                   Every year player's salaries reach new highs. Athletes are treated as celebrities in American society and idolized by young athletes. The kids who see what their favorite player is doing through the media also are being influenced by them. The example that professional athletes set is very important because they looked up to. The example that many athletes set is unfortunately a negative one. Most people think that athletes make too much money but there are those that believe they are paid fairly. The enormous amount of money that professional athletes receive is having a negative effect on kids today. Athletes should make less money to play a game because the huge contracts that they receive give them power. They are concerned with making money and not the example that they are creating for today’s youth. Professional players feel that they earn every dollar of the millions they make every year to play a game. Those who think that players are paid fairly in professional sports argue that since athletes make so much money for their teams they should compensated accordingly. According to Forbes magazine "The average NFL team is worth $957 million" (Forbes, 2012). Teams generate large profits and as a result can afford to pay athletes large salaries. The past NFL season, players and team owners tried to come to an agreement before the season. According to......

Noise

...different types of noise. Noise can be identified as anything in the process of communication that manages to interfere with the intended receiver getting and understanding the message properly. Environmental/physical noise This refers to anything external to the sender and receiver of a message that disrupts the sending and/or receiving of the message. Examples of this could be: - a stereo playing loudly - a phone ringing - being seated a long way away from the speaker - people chatting loudly around you  - cars driving or honking their horns Physiological noise This refers to a physical interference that can prevent a message getting through properly. This might include:  - hearing loss - poor eyesight - blindness - memory loss Psychological noise This is a mental interference between sender and receiver. This might occur if feelings such as love, hatred or irritation distract one of the communicators, causing the message not to be conveyed or received accurately. There is psychological noise present if one of the communicators is daydreaming rather than paying proper attention. Emotional distress or relationship problems might affect someone and cause messages not to get through properly. Semantic noise This type of disruption in the communication process can happen when the sender and receiver have a different understanding of the same word or phrase, which causes them to apply meaning to words differently. This sort of semantic noise......

Loud Noises

...Loud Noises Just make it stop, please, let it stop. I'm spending every minute awake wishing I was asleep, and every minute asleep in complete terror. Every breath seems to drain more life from me than the last. I would take or do anything to make it stop. I would sell my soul to the devil himself if I could. I can't take this anymore, I'm giving up. I was never a normal child growing up. Well I was always told by my superiors that I wasn't a normal child. My parents always telling me how unruly of a child I was. I was described as a ball of hell fire, who spat at the rules like they didn't apply to me. I was diagnosed With every hyperactive disorder the doctors had, Bipolar, ADD, ADHD. I felt like I wasn't wanted by my family. It was emptying and caused me to lash out more. Instead of just giving me attention they just shoved medication onto me. When I wasn't drugged out I was making sure my hatred for my parents was well heard. Some of the medication I was on made me feel like I was outside of my body watching someone else live my life. I never interacted with other children because my intelligence dwindled. I was always in a fog, It took more energy to communicate with others than any kid should have to. It was like trying to swim through high tide just trying to talk to others. My mind strained, my muscles ached, all tastes and smells were dulled down. I stopped enjoying food and stopped eating. I lost interest in sports, especially since I could barely pull myself out...

Vessels and Honour

...VESSELS OF HONOUR But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. I normally use to think this scripture was for some special group of people till I met four lepers at the entrance of the city gate. Rejected by all but chosen by God to fulfil his prophecy these Lepers did not only have faith but also Love. In times when women killed their kids for food, these lepers thought of the nation when they took over a camp by the workings of God. Israel had an army that God could have used but God chose the four lepers instead. In life we mostly consider ourselves unworthy because of rejections we face in the hands of men. We look down on ourselves because something we lack or feel we lack and say we are not good enough. But God thinks otherwise if we are faithful to Him and try our best to please Him. God doesn't make mistakes and does not wish anyone to suffer but to give Love, Peace and Joy to all men. You may think God has abandoned you but God is positioning you to fulfil His prophecy. Whenever you are rejected by those you Love tell yourself, “they might be doing it for evil but God is turning it into good, and that many may be saved". BY APOGEE...

Empty Vessel Make the Loudest Sound

...Nik Elida and my fellow friends. Today I am going to deliver a public speaking entitled Empty Vessels Make A Loud Sound. We can see that when empty vessels make a loud sound when struck with something. But filled vessels do not make much sound. This proverb has a hidden level of meaning. There are people around us who are like empty vessels or like filled vessels. Empty vessels refer to empty headed people who are the most talkative and noisy. These people go on speaking continuously, but their speeches are meaningless. They boast that they can do this and that. Such people are not to be taken seriously. They talk much and are short of action. Filled vessels refer to people who talk less and do more. Every word uttered by them will be meaningful and so they have to be taken seriously. They talk sensibly and their words carry weight. They won’t boast, but are capable of doing everything that they say. They talk only when it is necessary. These people believe more in action than in words. Serious people do not preach. A man who has only a little knowledge boasts that he is a scholar whereas a really profound scholar would not boast of his scholarship. His scholarship is made known to others through his sensible words and good deeds. So it is said that empty vessels make the most sound. It could also be taken to mean that people who don't think a lot or reason make silly statements about subjects they know little or nothing about. Have you ever......

...shutter on the camera stays open to emit light. Shutter speed is measured in “stops”. Each full stop is half (or double) the speed of next. The faster the shutter speed the sharper a moving object will appear in a photo. By contrast, the slower the shutter speed, the more movement will be captured. 5. Define and describe “White Balance”. White balance is the function of the camera that allows for the adjustment to match the different colors of light to their light sources. Since lighting sources vary so much in how colors are displayed, the white balance allows the camera to adjust to show white correctly in different settings such as daylight, candle light, and household lighting. Once the white is seen correctly- so will be the other colors. White light is measure in degrees Kelvin. 6. If you change the f stop on your camera one full stop to a higher number from f 5.6 to f 8, what change in the percentage of light striking the light sensor or film has occurred? You get half as much of the light as you had with f 5.6. 7. If you change your shutter speed one full stop to a faster shutter speed from 1/125sec. to 1/250sec., what change in the percentage of light striking the light sensor or film has occurred? At 1/250sec, you now have half the light that you had with 1/125 sec 8. If you change your ISO from 200 to 800 how many full stops have you changed your ISO? 2 Stops 9. The Empty Vessel Makes the Loudest Sound

.... I have always found during my official career that persons who speak softly commanded greater respect than the loud ones. Perhaps the soft manner gives an impression of wisdom, conviction and seriousness unless proved contrary by the words spoken. Even in discussions during meetings, people who normally speak softly raise their voices when an opposite view point is expressed as if loudness of tone would impart greater validity or strength to their views. This in turn is met with louder outbursts reducing the meeting often to Babel of voices. We are witness almost daily to such undesirable trait in the several panel discussions or debates taking place in TV. On the other hand if the voice is kept low and not loud, it will generally create a soothing and conducive climate with others also following suit. The discussions would then be meaningful and participative and everyone would turn to be attentive. If you watch TV carefully you will see really successful and great people speak slowly and softly carrying their points across effectively while loud people who rush their words exhibit lack of confidence. Although one’s voice is determined at the time of birth, I think a soft voice can be developed with some effort and practice. A loud voice sticks out like a sore thumb in a crowd. Generally a loud voice is associated with boorish nature, anger, dissatisfaction or being upset or agitated. A loud man is some what akin to a bull in china shop. A streak of aggressive behavior...

A noise itself is a signal that conveys information regarding the source of the noise. For example, the noise from a car engine conveys information regarding the state of the engine. The sources of noise are many, and vary from audio frequency acoustic noise emanating from moving, vibrating or colliding sources such as revolving machines, moving vehicles, computer fans, keyboard clicks, wind, rain, etc. to radio-frequency electromagnetic noise that can interfere with the transmission and reception of voice, image and data over the radio-frequency spectrum. Signal distortion is the term often used to describe a systematic undesirable change in a signal and refers to changes in a signal due to the non–ideal characteristics of the transmission channel, reverberations, echo and missing samples. Noise and distortion are the main limiting factors in communication and measurement systems. Therefore the modelling and removal of the effects of noise and distortion have......

Empty

...Empty Fake happiness is still the worst sadness. It's so sad to think about how many beautiful people are living every day hating themselves. First, it starts off on insecurities, of not being good enough for a certain someone, for your family, for the society. Then, the next thing you know is you are depressed. Depression doesn't exempt anyone, whether you are a poor person that has nothing, or you are rich that could get everything in just a snap of your fingers. Depression is like drowning but not being able to save yourself, so you just kind of gave up and let the deep, dark ocean take you. It feels like you're too sad to cry and too tired to sleep, and you just feel nothing. You have this empty feeling in your chest, and no matter what you do, you can't fill it out. Sometimes, the emptiness you feel is just too much and there's only so much a person could take, and then they just give up. Now, hurting yourself thinking you deserve it is such a hard thing to stop. It's like a drug, it takes you away from reality, and the next thing you know, you're in too deep, and it's too late to go back. So before this unhealthy habit starts, we need to prevent it from happening to us, to our loved ones. People are like pieces of paper. Once you tear them apart, you can't fix them. No matter what you do or say they will never be how they once are. Depressed people lack love from the people around them, so they just make their own world where they could be happy, blocking the people......

...such as decreased privacy and excessive population noise. In most cases, as population density increases, that larger population will produce more noise and more areas will be crowded. Individuals that live in areas where high population density exist also have a harder time maintaining privacy, so person's territorial tendencies must change and adapt. In order to fully grasp the concept of how population density affects the average person the concepts of personal space and privacy, territoriality, and noise must be understood. Noise The idea of noise is very subjective issue. What is considered noise to one person can be music to another person ears. Technically speaking the definition of noise is sound or a sound that is loud, unpleasant, unexpected, or undesired. When discussing noise it is so important to identify and classify noise by different characteristics such as amplification, Timbre, and pitch which are all physical attributes of noise. Decibels are used to measure how loud a noise is or its amplification. Hertz is used to measure the frequency of a noise. It can be classified as anything such as the sound that comes from airplanes, trucks, trains, cars, to a rock concert and party, construction work, and many other sound producing activities. Individuals that live by airports for example are 50% more likely to be bothered by the noise that that airport produces and generally experience four times the amount of noise that occupants other different areas......
