Ang Apat(4) na ito ay karaniwang mapapansin sa pang araw-araw na buhay. Ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
a. Dyad Communication: ito ay uri ng komunikasyon sa pagitan ng dalawang tao lamang. Mainam na halimbawa nito ay ang one-on-one interview.
Group Communication: Ang uring ito ay nagaganap sa pagitan ng tatlo o higit pang tao. Karaniwan nitong halimbawa ay ang mga group therapy sessions at group discussions.
Public Speaking: Ito ay ang pagbibigay ng talumpati sa harap ng madla. Maari itong maiuri sa dalawa:
Extemporaneous Speech Talumpating may kopya (): Ito ay ang pagbibigay ng talumpati kung saan handa ang tagapagsalita sa kaniyang sasabihin. Maaring may kopya ng talumpati ang tagapagsalita at binabasa na lamang ito sa harap ng madla, o kaya ay nakapagsaliksik na ito tungkol sa paksa at gumawa na lamang ng mental note. Karaniwan itong masasaksihan sa mga pormal na pagtitipon katulad ng seminar, lectures, at convocations.
Impromptu Speech (Talumpating Di-Handa): Sa uring ito, walang kopyang binabasa ang tagapagsalita habang inuusal nito ang kaniyang talumpati. Karaniwan ay hindi alam ng tagapagsalita ang eksaktong paksa hanggang sa mismong oras ng pagbibigay niya ng talumpati.
Pangmadlang Komunikasyon (Mass Communication): Naiiba ang uring ito dahil sa extent at magnitude ng kaya nitong maabot. Sa apat na uri ng komunikasyon, ito ang may pinakamaraming audience o tagatanggap ng mensahe. Karaniwan nitong halimbawa ay ang TV, print, at radio.
