Early childhood children can identify different color, language, gender, and physical. Children watch the how people are different and yet the same. They understand their native language and recognizes the differences of another language. An anti-bias curriculum help children to embrace as teachers nurture the development of each child’s ability respect issues of diversity and be fear in the classroom.
Teachers can create an Anti-bias classroom and the classroom environment should be Multicultural friendly that implement the education which have an active approach to challenge all prejudices, stereotypes or bias. In my opinion an Anti-Bias education is relevant because it reflects on education as a whole that is not based on if people are comfortable with the topics. Educators should have a specific goal for children and give them a clear cut educational experience. It explains how teachers should allow children to talk about what is going on in their world. Even in preschool children are expose to racism and prejudice, by implementing an Anti-bias curriculum children will have an opportunity to defect discrimination. For example, a child told another child that she do not want to play with her because the other child hair wasn’t done. This situation needed to be address right away because you would not want the any child to feel bad about him or herself, because the other children do not want to play with them. Perception by children that they are not good because of their race, gender, religion, or some other characteristic can also have an impact on their interactions with peers and adults, their engagement in the classroom, and subsequently their school success (Curenton, S.M., & Iruka, I.U. (2013).).

We encounter forms of bias in our every day to lives in the simplest forms, but it is the human self that decides what a fair course of action or thinking is. Being judgmental begins with the way we people are brought up. If being educated about the progressing world around us helps to keep negative judgments to a minimum, we could slowly make our way up on the “Happiest Countries” list. We call it equality and unfortunately, we are far from perfect when it comes to treating out neighbor like we’d want to be treated. The way to achieve such a feat can only be done by educating the public about their innate bias towards others. However, success is not achieved overnight. We get a little closer to total equality every day, even if it is a slow journey. The first step to make progress in this journey is for people to be educated. An anti-bias curriculum needs to be implemented into classrooms nationwide because it will lead to greater understanding between mainstream America and non-mainstream America, promote acceptance of diversity, and allow the already diverse to accept themselves. History is a subject that studies the history of the past events where historians express their judgment. In the recorded history, we often come across cases were we are able to discern bias in ones viewpoint. Few years ago, India experienced one of the most disastrous terrorist attacks on the decade. The 2008 Mumbai attacks, which dated from the 26th November 2008 to 29th November 2008. There was a lot of controversy as to who was the main culprit of these attacks. The ties between the two countries – India and Pakistan have been frail and contentious, therefore before any evidence was brought to the eyes of the world; already a lot of bias was perceptible not only by the Indian media but also American officials. Through this essay I want to objectively explore the confirmation bias that is deeply woven into the fabric of the language used by the media to inform us about the history of the Mumbai attacks. ...Detecting Media Bias Bobbi Secrist HUM/111 Critical and Creative Thinking Kathy Kildow The first article that I came across when I did a search for national politics was one done by fox news, but since I have a bias against fox news I decided not to go with that one because I was not sure I could remain objective. The reason for my bias against them is that they have a reputation for having a particular political bias and I didn’t want that opinion to hinder my review of the article. Instead I have chosen to go with an article from The New York Times politics page entitled “9 Swing States, Critical to Presidential Race, Are Mixed Lot”. The reporting was clear and concise with plenty of depth and insight about the nine swing states for the presidential race: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. While the story did not consider alternative perspectives or worldviews it did report some very interesting facts without making assumptions. All political implications of which candidate could get the swing states were emphasized and I don’t feel that anything was ignored, but I do feel that the writer showed a little bit of disrespect to our president. I predict outcomes without acknowledging the correct outcome. I often use this bias when I watch sports. I am an avid fan of basketball, and I typically like to predict the outcome of games and even the entire season. Examination of Bias: In the documentary, multiple forms of bias were exhibited, clearly establishing an anti-fast food campaign. Had the documentary not be biased, Morgan would’ve made some kind of an effort to get a hold of information that presented both sides of the story. However, without exception every person interviewed in the documentary had said something along the lines of fast food is bad for you, that it is harmful to your health, and that it will eventually make you fat and/or obese. Maybe what he did find was actually is the truth, but it was presented in bias. The audience can tell that Morgan started from the assumption that fast food is unhealthy, and everything in the movie only proves that point. One of the examples that spoke the loudest was when he visited the school for students with behavioral problems, and cited their organic, healthy meals as the reason why the school showed good order. The good behavior within the school is, I'm sure, based on a number of factors, and surely healthy food isn't the sole reason why the school was calm. To get the truth you have to watch at least three different news channels and then research multiple sites on the Web. The ten simple questions he discussed in the article will make deciding if the content being reported is worth listening to. One of the key issues I see with journalists is they have their own agendas and are not secure enough in their position to have it questioned or debated on television. They are quick to attack their “opponent” with a barrage of unchecked fact-based questions and will not allow their victims a proper platform to respond. If the conversation is not going the way they want it to they will simply “run out of time” and go to a commercial break. Journalists say they are just doing their jobs and want the truth, but I know it’s merely for ratings and pushing their agenda. With that being said people believe that their emotions, thoughts, and judgments are right based on their beliefs based on what they can prove if they can. Our tradition paradigm has generally assumed that patterns of discriminatory behavior in organizations are conscious; that people who know better do the right thing, and those who do not cause bias.
